The Critical Concepts - Alignment to Source Standards
In 2016, analysts at Marzano Research identified a focused set of content for each K–12 grade level in English language arts (ELA), mathematics, and science called The Critical Concepts (Simms, 2016). This report is the product of a post-hoc alignment between the source standards and the final Critical Concepts proficiency scales. Such an alignment was found to be necessary and useful based on our analysis and feedback from users of the Critical Concepts.
